India UK ink historic Free Trade Agreement
On May 6, 2025, India and the United Kingdom (UK), signed a Free Trade Agreement (FTA). According to an official statement, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Sir Keir Starmer announced the successful conclusion of a mutually beneficial and forward-looking India – UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
” The FTA is the culmination of a process that began in 2022 with the launch of the negotiations. A statement by the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry mentioned the following main features of the FTA: It will provide Comprehensive market access for goods, across all sectors, covering all of India’s export interests.
