India AI Impact Summit champions a human-centric, sensitive global AI ecosystem.
India has been emerging as a pioneer in shaping the global discourse on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The recently held India AI Summit at Delhi was the largest in magnitude of its kind ,which brought together national and international decision-makers shaping collective commitments, strengthening global partnerships and defining India’s leadership in the AI decade ahead. According to figures provided by the Ministry of Electronics & IT, Government of India, the event was attended by over 20 Heads of Government and 59 Ministerial-level representatives, alongside government representatives from 118 countries.
The Summit also convened 100+ global AI leaders, CEOs and CXOs, and over 500 leading AI experts from across the world. Significantly, it was the first-ever AI Summit hosted in the Global South. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that “ Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaya – Welfare for all, Happiness for all” was the Summit’s theme and a manifestation of India’s perspective on AI.
The Prime Minister rooted for democratization for AI, an important component of which entails placing the aspirations and priorities of the Global South at the center of AI governance. Through this platform, India once again highlighted its role as the leading voice of the Global South.
